XCMG Unveils New 25-Ton Electric Crawler Excavator Ahead of bauma 2025

XCMG, a leader in electric construction equipment, has recently introduced a new 25-ton electric crawler excavator in anticipation of bauma 2025. This innovative excavator is set to target the global urban construction, mine operations, and logistical material handling markets.

The XE215EV electric excavator is equipped with a high-capacity 400 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery, providing up to 8 hours of continuous operation. This promises uninterrupted operation at a lower cost of ownership and reduced downtime compared to traditional diesel excavators. Additionally, the electric excavator boasts lower maintenance requirements and easier repair needs, further enhancing its efficiency.

One of the standout features of the XCMG XE215EV is its rapid DC fast charging capability, allowing the machine’s massive battery to be fully recharged in just 1.5-2 hours. Moreover, the excavator is equipped with BYD battery swap technology, enabling it to be powered up on-site without the need to leave the job site.

XCMG has been at the forefront of battery swap technology, with its battery packs being utilized across its entire range of heavy equipment assets, including excavators, terminal tractors, dump trucks, and wheel loaders. This standardized approach allows fleets to efficiently utilize a fraction of the total battery capacity, optimizing energy usage and material resources.

In addition to the XE215EV, XCMG showcased its latest electric equipment at bauma China in December 2024, including an 85-ton autonomous electric mining truck with a fully cab-less design. This innovative truck delivers an impressive 1070 hp and over 16,000 lb-ft of torque, setting new standards in the industry.

XCMG also made a significant announcement at bauma regarding its next-generation Xrea Global Telematics Platform. This platform integrates IoT, big data, cloud computing, and AI to enable seamless cross-border fleet management. Offering real-time diagnostics, predictive maintenance, and data-driven optimization, the telematics platform empowers equipment managers and fleet operators to track and manage fleets efficiently.

With a commitment to advancing engineering technology and sustainability, XCMG is leading the way in delivering efficient, intelligent, and eco-friendly solutions for global clients. The company’s focus on green innovations and electrification across all series underscores its dedication to creating a sustainable future for the construction industry.
