Toyota has recently launched its latest electric SUV, the C-HR+, in Norway, a country where almost all cars sold are electric vehicles. The C-HR+ is being touted as “the perfect electric SUV for Norwegian roads,” offering a spacious interior and an impressive driving range of up to 373 miles (600 km).
This new electric SUV is actually Toyota’s third electric SUV to hit the Norwegian market. The C-HR+ comes as a replacement for the discontinued gas-powered model, with a sleek new design, enhanced interior space, and a host of new features. The vehicle is based on Toyota’s e-TNGA EV platform, with an extended wheelbase that provides more cabin space. The cargo room behind the rear seats has also been increased to nearly 15 cubic feet (416 liters), surpassing the hybrid model.
Visually, the C-HR+ boasts a stylish coupe-crossover profile, with a rear window integrated into the spoiler for a sporty look. The design language is in line with Toyota’s updated models like the Corolla, Crown, and Prius, but the front bumper, grille, and headlights are all unique to the C-HR+.
The official debut of the C-HR+ took place in Norway recently, where Piotr Pawlak, president of Toyota Northern Europe, introduced the vehicle as a bold statement in the electric vehicle market. The C-HR+ offers fast charging capabilities, a driving range of 600 km, and more.
In terms of battery options, the C-HR+ is available in Norway with two choices: a 57.7 kWh or 77 kWh battery, providing a WLTP range of up to 373 miles (600 km). The smaller battery option is exclusive to front-wheel-drive models, while the larger battery can be paired with front-wheel-drive or all-wheel-drive powertrains.
Inside the C-HR+, you’ll find a 12.3” infotainment system, advanced driver assistance features, and a panoramic sunroof. Safety features like Blind Spot Monitor and Adaptive High-Beam headlights come standard, with higher trims offering additional features like Park Assist and a Panoramic View Monitor.
The C-HR+ joins Toyota’s lineup in Norway alongside the Urban Cruiser and bZ4X electric SUVs. The bZ4X was actually the top-selling EV in Norway in January. Customers in Norway can now reserve the C-HR+ with sales expected to begin in August 2025. Pricing details will be revealed soon on Toyota’s website.
