Australian logistics company Linfox is taking significant steps towards electrifying its heavy-duty semi fleet by adding thirty new Volvo FH and FM Electric semi trucks. This move comes as Volvo Trucks prepares to kick off full-scale production of electric trucks at its Brisbane facility in early 2026, coinciding with Linfox’s largest order in Australia to date.

Roger Alm, President of Volvo Trucks, expressed pride in the continued partnership with Linfox, highlighting the trust in zero-emissions transport as a viable solution. The order for 30 Volvo electric trucks signifies a significant milestone in the adoption of electric vehicles in the logistics industry.

With the commencement of electric truck production in Australia, Volvo Trucks expands its global footprint in building purpose-built electric trucks. As the company’s electric fleet approaches the 100 millionth mile mark, it solidifies its position as a leader in sustainable transportation solutions.

Peter Fox AM, Executive Chairman of Linfox, emphasized the company’s commitment to driving the future and leading sustainable logistics in Australia. The latest order includes 29 Volvo FH Electric and one FM Electric semi, with plans to continue electrifying the fleet as ICE-powered assets are phased out.

Electrek’s perspective on Volvo Trucks’ progress in the electric truck sector underscores the company’s significant lead in commercial trucking. Volvo, along with Mack and Renault, continues to build on its success in electrifying the commercial vehicle market, while competitors struggle to keep pace.

As Volvo Trucks logs millions of miles with its electric trucks and introduces the third generation of electric semis, the competition faces an uphill battle in catching up. The seamless integration of electric trucks into Linfox’s fleet further solidifies Volvo’s position as an industry leader in sustainable transportation solutions.
