Li Auto (NASDAQ: LI) faced yet another challenging month in August, with a significant drop in monthly deliveries. The company delivered 28,529 vehicles during the month, marking a sharp 40.72 percent decline compared to the same period last year. This marks the third consecutive month of year-on-year delivery declines for Li Auto, resulting in an 8.64 percent decrease in year-to-date deliveries.
Despite these challenges, Li Auto is looking towards the future with optimism, particularly with the upcoming launch of the Li i6 electric SUV. Set to be officially launched next month, the Li i6 aims to compete with popular models such as the Mercedes-Benz GLC, BMW X3, and Audi Q5. The company has announced a price range of approximately RMB 250,000 to RMB 300,000 for the Li i6, positioning it as a competitive option in the market.
In addition to the Li i6, Li Auto recently introduced the Li i8, its first pure-electric SUV. Following a relaunch in early August to address initial reception issues, the company aims to deliver 8,000 to 10,000 units of the Li i8 by the end of September. Furthermore, Li Auto plans to achieve stable monthly deliveries of 6,000 Li i8 units and 9,000 to 10,000 Li i6 units by the end of the year.
Overall, Li Xiang, the founder, chairman, and CEO of Li Auto, envisions a monthly delivery target of 18,000 to 20,000 units for the company’s battery electric vehicle (BEV) models, including the Li Mega. The company recently announced that monthly deliveries of the Li Mega have surpassed 3,000 units.
As of August 31, 2025, Li Auto operates a vast network of retail stores, service centers, and charging stations across China. With 543 retail stores in 156 cities, 536 service centers, and 3,190 supercharging stations equipped with 17,597 charging points, Li Auto is well-positioned to support its growing customer base.
Despite the challenges faced in recent months, Li Auto remains focused on innovation and growth. The upcoming launch of the Li i6 and continued efforts to expand its product lineup and delivery network demonstrate the company’s commitment to success in the competitive electric vehicle market.
