Huawei Collaborates with JAC Group for Luxury Vehicle Project

Beijing (Gasgoo)- On August 6, Huawei and BAIC Group’s collaborative model, the STELATO S9, was officially released to the market. The next day, significant progress was reported on Huawei’s partnership with another automaker, JAC Group, for their luxury brand “Zunjie” (name in Chinese pinyin).

Reports indicate that JAC Group is ramping up recruitment efforts for the Zunjie project, looking for experts in quality systems, quality review, product line quality, production quality, and vehicle quality. These positions will report to the project’s Chief Quality Officer and require extensive experience in high-end vehicle projects, particularly with vehicles priced above 300,000 yuan, and preferably with joint venture experience.

JAC Group is set to produce 38 Zunjie test vehicles and establish a 300-member quality team. Chairman and General Manager Xiang Xingchu revealed in July that the first product had entered the vehicle testing phase, with plans for production to commence by the end of this year and market launch in the first half of next year.

Recent updates suggest that Zunjie’s inaugural model will debut in the first quarter of 2025. The luxury vehicle, priced in the million-yuan range, aims to rival ultra-luxury brands like Maybach and Rolls-Royce. It will be manufactured on a jointly developed luxury new energy platform. The construction of the JAC-Huawei factory is nearing completion, with an annual production capacity of 200,000 vehicles.
