Chery Holding Group Makes History by Joining the Fortune Global 500 List

Chery Holding Group has made a significant mark in the automotive industry by being included in the prestigious Fortune Global 500 list for the first time. The company’s operating revenue of $39.0917 billion has secured its position at 385th place on the list. This achievement not only highlights Chery’s success but also signifies a major milestone for Chinese automakers, as Chery is the first Chinese automaker with the highest export volume to be featured on the Fortune Global 500 list.

The 2024 Fortune Global 500 list showcases a combined operating revenue of approximately $41 trillion, with a minimal revenue requirement of $32.1 billion to make the list. Out of the 133 Chinese companies that made the list, Chery Holding Group contributed significantly with its revenue of about $11 trillion in 2023.

Chery Holding Group’s journey to this accolade spans over 27 years of development, during which the company has navigated the rapid growth and transformations of the Chinese automotive industry. Today, Chery has a global presence with 14.2 million users across more than 80 countries and regions.

The company’s growth trajectory is evident in its sales performance, with annual sales nearly doubling from 962,000 vehicles in 2021 to 1.881 million vehicles in 2023. Chery has also maintained its position as the top Chinese passenger car exporter for 21 consecutive years, exporting a total of 3.9 million vehicles.

In the first half of 2024, Chery continued its impressive momentum by selling over 1.1 million vehicles, marking a 48.4% year-on-year increase and setting a new sales record. Notably, Chery is the only automaker in the industry to achieve double-digit growth in both new energy vehicles and traditional oil-fueled vehicles, as well as in both domestic and overseas markets.
