New Plug-In Hybrid Audi Q5 Offers Impressive Electric Range

The Audi Q5 has recently introduced a plug-in hybrid variant that boasts an impressive electric-only driving range of up to 62 miles. This new offering, known as the E-hybrid Quattro, is available in both SUV and Sportback versions, and shares its powertrain with the Audi A5 and A6 models.

Under the hood, the Audi Q5 E-hybrid is equipped with a 2.0-litre turbo petrol four engine paired with a gearbox-mounted electric motor. This combination produces 295bhp, enabling the vehicle to accelerate from 0-62mph in just 6.2 seconds and reach a top speed of 155mph.

The powertrain is supported by a 25.9kWh battery that can be charged at a rate of 11kW using an AC charger or through regenerative braking, which can replenish up to 75% of the battery’s capacity. Drivers can choose between electric or hybrid mode to suit their driving preferences.

For UK customers, the Q5 E-hybrid and Q5 E-hybrid Sportback will be available exclusively in four-wheel-drive Quattro configuration. Standard features include 19-inch alloy wheels, LED lighting, S sports suspension, and Audi’s advanced MMI infotainment system.

Audi has announced plans to launch a total of 10 new PHEV models across its lineup by 2025, with the Q5 E-hybrid being among the first of these offerings. Pricing for the UK market starts at £56,740 for the regular SUV and £59,240 for the Sportback version.

Customers can place their orders starting in July, with deliveries expected to begin in September. The Audi Q5 E-hybrid represents a step forward in the brand’s commitment to electrification and sustainable mobility.
