Targa Telematics and Volvo Cars have joined forces in a strategic partnership to develop innovative connected mobility services by integrating vehicle data from Volvo models across Europe. This collaboration aims to offer fleet managers and drivers a range of digital services that simplify vehicle provisioning and optimize fleet management processes.

By directly integrating data streams from various Volvo models into Targa Telematics’ platform, new services can be created without the need for additional installations. This integration will enable access to information such as kilometers traveled, fuel consumption, GPS location, EV data, and remote commands like lock/unlock, all while adhering to privacy and safety regulations.

Fleet managers will benefit from detailed reports generated by Targa Telematics, providing essential insights for effective decision-making and fleet optimization. The integration of data streams will empower them with valuable information to manage their fleets more efficiently.

Targa Telematics’ sales vice president, Alberto Falcione, emphasized the goal of simplifying and normalizing data flows through collaborations with car manufacturers. By utilizing data selected based on customer needs, the aim is to develop fast, optimized solutions that enhance operational processes for both customers and Targa Telematics services.

With over a decade of experience in the leasing, rental, and insurance sectors, Targa Telematics has the expertise to transform raw data into valuable insights, giving businesses a competitive edge in the market.

In a related development, Volvo Cars has appointed Tata Technologies as a strategic engineering supplier, further expanding their partnership. Tata Technologies will provide product engineering, embedded software solutions, and product lifecycle management services to Volvo Cars from their global hubs in Sweden, India, Romania, and Poland.
