Is software the engine of automotive’s future?

Autocar has teamed up with Siemens to explore the role of software in the future of automotive technology in an upcoming webinar. The event, scheduled for this Wednesday, will feature special guest Red Bull Racing.

With software playing an increasingly vital role in vehicle development and functionality, the automotive industry faces significant questions about its impact.

How can software improve cars post-purchase? What implications does it have for vehicle design and development? And how crucial is it in the Formula 1 pit garage? These questions will be addressed by industry experts in the webinar.

Siemens, a leading technology company with a strong presence in the mobility sector, will be represented by Uday Senapati, head of automotive, battery, and mobility. Joining him will be top Volvo Cars engineer Rickard Arvidsson and Red Bull Racing’s Head of CAD and product lifecycle management, Daniel Watkins.

Mark Tisshaw, editor of Autocar, commented: “Our collaboration with Siemens has highlighted the company’s deep connections in the automotive industry and its significant influence across various levels.

“We are excited to work with Siemens to showcase the stories of industry leaders and innovators at this year’s Autocar Awards ceremony and to explore how their insights are shaping the future of the automotive industry in our upcoming webinar.”

The webinar will be live on Wednesday, June 25, from 14:00-15:00, offering viewers the chance to interact with the expert panelists.

As part of the partnership, Siemens has been named as the sponsor of the 2025 Autocar Awards, recognizing individuals and organizations driving innovation and excellence in the automotive sector.
