Skoda’s highly anticipated entry-level EV, the Epiq, is currently undergoing rigorous testing in preparation for its launch in 2025. Priced at under £25,000, the Epiq will position itself below the Elroq in Skoda’s lineup and will utilize the cutting-edge Volkswagen Group’s MEB Entry EV platform, sharing a platform with the VW ID 2 and Cupra Raval superminis, as well as the VW ID 2X crossover.

The Epiq is set to compete with the likes of the Fiat Grande Panda and the reborn Renault 4, offering a blend of ruggedness and urban style. Recent spy images reveal that the production model will stay true to the concept’s bold design, featuring a lower split grille at the front and distinctive daytime-running lights.

While interior details remain under wraps, Skoda has confirmed that the Epiq will showcase the brand’s new Modern Solid design language inside the cabin, emphasizing robustness, functionality, and authenticity. Expect an abundance of physical buttons for key functions and a focus on practicality and storage space, with a generous boot capacity of 490 liters.

Although specific powertrain details have yet to be disclosed, the MEB Entry platform will support a single front-mounted electric motor and battery options ranging from 38kWh to 56kWh. Skoda is aiming for a range exceeding 400km (249 miles), ensuring a seamless and efficient driving experience for urban commuters and city dwellers alike. Stay tuned for more updates as the Epiq nears its official debut in the automotive market.
