Dongfeng Motor’s luxury electric off-road brand, M-Hero, has officially launched the pre-sales of its latest offering, the M817 off-road SUV. This new model is the result of a strategic partnership between M-Hero and tech giant Huawei, showcasing advanced technologies such as the ADS 4 assisted driving system and HarmonyOS cockpit.

The M817 is available for pre-order in two variants: Pro and Max, with starting prices of RMB 329,900 ($45,950) and RMB 359,900, respectively. This hardcore off-road SUV boasts impressive dimensions, measuring 5,100 mm in length, 1,998 mm in width, and either 1,889 mm or 1,919 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,005 mm.

Powered by a hybrid system consisting of a 1.5-liter engine and electric motors, the M817 delivers a combined power output of 505 kW and a torque of 848 Nm. This powertrain enables the SUV to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.2 seconds. Additionally, the model is equipped with a 31.7 kWh battery pack, providing a combined range of 1,300 km when fully charged.

The highlight of the M817 is its incorporation of Huawei’s cutting-edge technologies, including the ADS 4 driving assistance system and HarmonyOS cockpit. These features enhance the overall driving experience and connectivity within the vehicle.

M-Hero, a brand launched by Dongfeng in 2022, aims to revolutionize the luxury electric off-road vehicle market in China. With the introduction of the M817, M-Hero continues to push boundaries and set new standards in the industry.

In collaboration with Huawei, M-Hero is committed to advancing intelligent automotive solutions and establishing itself as a leader in China’s electric off-road vehicle culture. The partnership between the two companies signifies a significant step towards innovation and technological advancement in the automotive sector.
