Changan Automobile Reports Impressive Growth in NEV Sales for May
Changan Automobile recently announced a remarkable 90% year-on-year increase in sales for its wholly-owned new energy vehicle (NEV) brands in May, with a total of 55,800 units sold.
The performance of Changan’s self-owned NEV brands showed significant growth last month. Changan NEVO saw a 14.57% increase in sales compared to April, delivering 13,557 new vehicles. The NEVO brand currently offers three models, including the A05 plug-in hybrid electric sedan, the Q05 plug-in hybrid electric SUV, and the A07 range-extended/battery-electric sedan. The new NEVO E07 is also available for pre-order and is set to be officially delivered in the fourth quarter of 2024.
DEEPAL, another of Changan’s NEV brands, sold 14,371 vehicles in May, marking a 12.8% month-on-month increase. The brand is gearing up to launch a new vehicle model, the rugged off-road SUV G318, in June.
AVATR, the premium NEV brand developed in collaboration with Huawei and CATL, delivered 4,569 vehicles in May, showing an impressive 163% year-on-year growth. With a cumulative delivery of 24,348 vehicles from January to May 2024, AVATR is on track to achieve its goal of selling 100,000 vehicles annually this year. The brand plans to introduce eight new products throughout the year, expanding its product line and sales network to further boost sales.
Changan Automobile’s success in the NEV market reflects the growing demand for electric vehicles and the company’s commitment to innovation and sustainability. With a strong lineup of NEV models and strategic partnerships in place, Changan is well-positioned to continue its growth trajectory in the electric vehicle sector.
