Zeekr, a leading electric vehicle manufacturer, is gearing up to launch its first hybrid SUV model, the Zeekr 9X. This flagship vehicle boasts a length of 5,239 mm and is equipped with a powerful battery pack with a capacity of up to 70 kWh, offering an impressive range of over 380 kilometers on a single charge.

The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology in China recently released a list of approved vehicle models for sale, including the Zeekr 9X. This marks a significant milestone for Zeekr as it finalizes the regulatory approvals necessary for the vehicle’s commercial launch.

The Zeekr 9X comes in four different model numbers, all of which are plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs) featuring an engine with a displacement of 1,974 ml and a maximum power output of 205 kW. With spacious dimensions of 5,239 mm in length, 2,019 mm in width, and 1,819 mm in height, the 6-seat SUV offers a comfortable and luxurious driving experience.

Powered by ternary lithium batteries supplied by a joint venture between CATL and Geely, the Zeekr 9X delivers exceptional performance and efficiency. The battery pack’s 70 kWh capacity ensures a long driving range, making it a practical choice for daily commuting and long-distance travel.

Zeekr unveiled the 9X model at the 2025 Shanghai Auto Show, showcasing its commitment to innovation and sustainability in the automotive industry. The company announced that pre-sales for the 9X would begin at the Chengdu Auto Show in late August, with plans for an official launch in the third quarter of the year.

In an effort to provide transparency and avoid negative feedback from sudden model updates, Zeekr has shared its vehicle update plan for the remainder of the year. With an estimated starting price of around RMB 600,000 ($83,560), the Zeekr 9X is set to revolutionize the hybrid SUV market with its cutting-edge technology and eco-friendly design.
