Ansys, a unit of Synopsys, has recently announced a collaboration with Nvidia to integrate Nvidia Omniverse technology into its autonomous vehicle simulation solutions. This partnership will initially focus on incorporating Omniverse technology into Ansys’ computational fluid dynamics (CFD) and autonomous vehicle solutions, providing customers with direct access to the advanced technologies and libraries offered by Omniverse.

The primary goal of this collaboration is to enhance the understanding of vehicle aerodynamics, improve autonomous vehicle safety, and contribute to the development of 6G connectivity. By leveraging Universal Scene Description (OpenUSD) for integration with Omniverse, Ansys aims to create accessible workflows across various simulation applications, enabling engineers to work seamlessly with diverse computer-aided engineering (CAE) tools.

One of the key benefits of this integration is the ability for engineers to visualize fluid dynamics in realistic digital environments, facilitating the intuitive analysis of complex data and speeding up the design optimization process. This enhanced visualization capability will enable engineers to make more informed decisions and improve the overall efficiency of the design process.

Furthermore, the collaboration between Ansys and Nvidia will provide “high-fidelity outputs” that streamline the development, training, testing, and validation of autonomous systems, ultimately enhancing their reliability and safety. Additionally, Ansys’ PyAnsys, a suite of Python packages, offers users the flexibility to customize and automate simulations within their applications built on Nvidia Omniverse.

In a similar vein, in March 2025, Magna, a leading mobility technology company, partnered with Nvidia to develop AI-driven solutions for software-defined vehicles, focusing on intelligence and autonomy. This partnership reflects the growing trend towards integrating advanced technologies into the automotive industry to drive innovation and enhance vehicle performance.

Overall, the collaboration between Ansys and Nvidia represents a significant step towards advancing autonomous vehicle simulation capabilities and accelerating the development of next-generation vehicles. By combining Ansys’ expertise in CFD and autonomous vehicle solutions with Nvidia’s cutting-edge Omniverse technology, engineers can benefit from enhanced visualization, streamlined workflows, and improved safety in autonomous systems. This partnership underscores the importance of collaboration and innovation in driving the future of the automotive industry.
