Stelato, a brand jointly developed by Huawei and Beijing Automotive Group (BAIC Group), has experienced a remarkable response in the market for its latest model, the S9T station wagon. According to Huawei’s HIMA (Harmony Intelligent Mobility Alliance) business, within the first 24 hours of its pre-sales, the Stelato S9T garnered over 20,000 pre-orders.

Peng Lei, the product head for Stelato at Huawei, shared that the S9T received an impressive 10,000 pre-orders within the initial hour of opening pre-sales. This overwhelming demand showcases the strong interest and anticipation for the new model.

Stelato is part of Huawei HIMA, which includes five automotive brands: Aito from Seres Group, Luxeed from Chery, Maextro from Anhui Jianghuai Automobile Group (JAC), and Shangjie from SAIC. The brand’s flagship model, the Stelato S9, was launched on August 6, 2024, targeting the high-end sedan market.

Pre-orders for the S9T began on August 18, offering a pre-sales price of RMB 328,000 ($45,670). The S9T is available in both battery electric vehicle (BEV) and extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) variants, a common feature among Huawei-backed models.

The S9T BEV version is equipped with a 100-kWh Huawei Giant Whale battery, providing a range of up to 801 kilometers. On the other hand, the S9T EREV variant features Huawei’s Xuexiao extended-range system, offering a battery range of up to 354 kilometers and a total range of up to 1,305 kilometers when fully charged and fueled.

In terms of technology, the S9T boasts a sophisticated smart driving system that includes a 192-channel LiDAR, three high-precision solid-state LiDARs, and five 4D millimeter-wave radars. It is one of the first models to integrate Huawei’s ADS 4 smart driving system, released in April of the same year.

Stelato announced that the official launch of the S9T will take place in September, providing eager customers with the opportunity to experience the innovative features and advanced technology of the new station wagon.

The strong demand for the Stelato S9T reflects the brand’s success in capturing the attention of consumers seeking cutting-edge electric vehicles with top-notch performance and features. With its impressive pre-order numbers and advanced technology, the S9T is poised to make a significant impact in the automotive market.
