Changan Mazda, the joint venture between Changan Automobile and Mazda in China, has announced the upcoming launch of its new model, the EZ-60 midsize SUV (sport utility vehicle), scheduled for September 26. This highly anticipated vehicle will be available in both battery electric vehicle (BEV) and extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) variants, marking a significant step forward for Changan Mazda in the global market.

The EZ-60 is the first new energy SUV from Changan Mazda and follows the success of the EZ-6 sedan as the brand’s second globally oriented model. Unveiled at the Shanghai auto show in April, the EZ-60 quickly garnered attention and began accepting pre-orders without disclosing pricing information. Within just 48 hours, the model secured an impressive 10,060 pre-orders, reaching 20,000 units by May 16. As of August 27, pre-orders for the EZ-60 have soared past 40,000 units, indicating strong demand for this innovative vehicle.

To meet the high demand for the EZ-60, Changan Mazda’s Nanjing plant has invested nearly RMB 200 million ($28 million) in upgrading its production line, ensuring efficient manufacturing of this cutting-edge SUV. The first batch of EZ-60 vehicles has already been shipped to over 100 dealerships across China as the brand gears up for the official launch on September 26.

The success of the EZ-60 reflects Changan Mazda’s commitment to delivering quality and innovation in the electric vehicle market. With its sleek design, advanced features, and eco-friendly technology, the EZ-60 is poised to make a significant impact in the global automotive industry. Stay tuned for the official launch of the Mazda EZ-60 midsize SUV on September 26, as Changan Mazda continues to drive innovation and excellence in the electric vehicle sector.
