Xpeng, a leading Chinese electric vehicle (EV) maker, is set to host its annual tech day event on November 6 this year, a departure from its usual tradition of holding the event on October 24. The event, formerly known as Xpeng 1024 tech day, has now been rebranded as Xpeng AI Day and will take place at the South China University of Technology.
The announcement was made by Xpeng’s chairman and CEO, He Xiaopeng, on Weibo. A proud graduate of the university, He Xiaopeng expressed excitement about sharing Xpeng’s latest advancements in AI cars, AI robots, and flying cars during the event.
Xpeng first introduced its 1024 tech day event on October 24, 2019, and has since observed this date as the annual tech day. However, this year marks a change in plans as the company gears up for a global audience of tech enthusiasts.
The decision to shift the event date from a fixed to a variable one comes after a busy month for Xpeng. The company recently unveiled its new model, the P7+, at an event in Shenzhen on October 10. Additionally, Xpeng announced the launch of two SUV models, the G6 and G9, in Dubai on October 22.
The move to hold Xpeng AI Day on November 6 allows the company to accommodate its busy schedule and focus on engaging with a global audience. This shift mirrors the approach taken by Xpeng’s local counterpart, Nio, which hosts an annual event called Nio Day. Nio Day 2024 is set to take place in Guangzhou on December 21, where the Firefly sub-brand will be unveiled.
As Xpeng continues to make strides in the EV industry, the upcoming Xpeng AI Day promises to showcase the company’s commitment to innovation and technology. With a renewed focus on global outreach, Xpeng is poised to captivate audiences worldwide with its cutting-edge developments in AI cars and related technologies.
