Zeekr, the luxury electric vehicle (EV) brand under Geely Holding Group, is making its mark in the African market with plans to launch the Zeekr 001 and Zeekr X models in Egypt. The company has partnered with Egyptian International Motors (EIM Group) to establish a strong presence in Egypt, starting with the opening of a flagship store in Cairo by the end of 2024.

Egypt, being the second-largest automotive market in Africa, presents a lucrative opportunity for Zeekr to introduce its premium EVs. The government’s support for the EV sector and increasing demand for Chinese-made electric vehicles make Egypt an ideal market for Zeekr to expand its international footprint.

The Zeekr 001 shooting brake and the Zeekr X urban SUV will be the first models to hit the Egyptian market, with plans to introduce more models in the future. These models are part of Zeekr’s lineup of battery electric vehicles (BEVs) that offer a high-end driving experience and cutting-edge technology.

In addition to Egypt, Zeekr has already made its mark in over 35 international markets, including countries in Europe, Asia, Oceania, and Latin America. The company’s expansion into new territories reflects its commitment to global growth and innovation in the EV industry.

Founded in March 2021, Zeekr has quickly gained momentum with the launch of its flagship model, the Zeekr 001, followed by a range of other models such as the Zeekr 007 sedan, Zeekr 009 MPV, Zeekr 7X SUV, and the recent Zeekr Mix five-seater. The company’s diverse lineup caters to different market segments and showcases Zeekr’s commitment to sustainable mobility solutions.

Looking ahead, Zeekr has ambitious plans to launch a flagship SUV with new electric-hybrid powertrain technology in the second half of 2025. This initiative aligns with Geely Holding Group’s vision for future mobility solutions and underscores Zeekr’s position as a leader in the EV market.

With record-breaking delivery numbers and a strong global presence, Zeekr is poised for continued success in the EV industry. Stay tuned for the company’s upcoming financial results for the third quarter of 2024, set to be released on November 14th. As Zeekr continues to drive innovation and sustainability in the automotive sector, the brand’s expansion into the Egyptian market marks a significant milestone in its international growth strategy.
