2025 Kia Telluride Review: Prices, Specs, and Photos

The 2025 Kia Telluride is a well-equipped, value-oriented crossover SUV with three seating rows. It is a popular choice in its segment, competing closely with its cousin, the Hyundai Palisade. Other rivals include the Subaru Ascent, Ford Explorer, Volkswagen Atlas, and Nissan Pathfinder.

In terms of design, the Telluride stands out with its boxy, blocky lines that give it a more traditional body-on-frame SUV appearance. It features big wheels, a wide front grille, and a rugged overall look. The X-Line model takes it a step further with an increased ride height and more robust-looking bumpers. While it may not be as capable off-road as some competitors, it still offers a stylish and functional design.

Inside, the Telluride impresses with its sophisticated interior. The low dashboard is topped with a sharp 12.3-inch touchscreen, and upscale materials and finishes give the cabin a luxurious feel. Higher trims boast upholstery and trim that would not be out of place in a luxury vehicle.

Under the hood, the Telluride is powered by a 3.8-liter V-6 engine that delivers 291 horsepower. While this provides smooth acceleration and a towing capacity of up to 5,500 pounds, it does come at the cost of fuel efficiency, with a combined rating of 20 mpg when equipped with all-wheel drive. This may be a drawback for some buyers, especially considering that many competitors offer electrification options for better efficiency.

Despite the fuel economy compromises, the Telluride still earns high marks for its overall performance. It offers a smooth, luxury-like ride even on its largest available wheels, and the steering is well-weighted. The spacious interior easily accommodates four adults across the first two rows, with good room for teens in the rearmost row. The choice of a three-seat bench or a pair of captain’s chairs is available for the middle row.

Safety is also a strong point for the 2025 Telluride, with reassuring crash test results and a host of driver-assistance features. Adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitors, and highway assist are included, with the option to add a surround-view camera system to help alleviate blind spots caused by the thick rear pillars.

Pricing for the 2025 Kia Telluride starts at $37,585 for the base LX trim with front-wheel drive. Higher trims and additional packages are available, with the top-of-the-line SX-Prestige X-Pro AWD model reaching $54,780. The Telluride is built at Kia’s West Point, Georgia, production facility.

Overall, the 2025 Kia Telluride is a good SUV choice for those who prioritize style, comfort, and features. While it may not be the most fuel-efficient option in its class, it offers a compelling combination of design, performance, and value for buyers in the market for a three-row crossover SUV.
