Zeekr is all set to introduce the Zeekr 001 shooting brake and Zeekr X compact SUV in Egypt by the end of this year, marking its entry into the African market. The brand’s first store is scheduled to open in Cairo, showcasing its premium electric vehicles.

The premium EV arm of Geely Group, Zeekr, has inked a distributorship agreement with Egyptian International Motors (EIM Group) to establish a robust sales and service network in Egypt. This strategic move aims to cater to the growing demand for Chinese-made EVs in Egypt, which is Africa’s second-largest car market. The government’s initiatives to promote the electric vehicle sector have further fueled this demand.

The initial launch will feature the Zeekr 001 and Zeekr X models, with plans for additional models in the pipeline. With Egypt being a key market, Zeekr is poised to capitalize on the increasing interest in electric vehicles in the region.

Zeekr has already made its presence felt in over 35 markets worldwide, including countries like Sweden, Australia, Thailand, the UAE, Singapore, and Mexico. This global expansion spans across Europe, Asia, Oceania, and Latin America, showcasing Zeekr’s commitment to sustainability and innovation.

Established in 2021, Zeekr introduced its first model, the Zeekr 001, in April of the same year, with deliveries commencing in October. The brand’s European market strategy kicked off in 2023, focusing on countries like the Netherlands and Sweden as its initial targets.

Apart from the Zeekr 001 and Zeekr X, Zeekr’s lineup includes the Zeekr 007 sedan, Zeekr 009 MPV, Zeekr 7X SUV, and Zeekr Mix minivan in the Chinese market. The Zeekr Mix, a five-seater BEV with an MPV-like design, was launched on October 23, expanding the brand’s offerings in the electric vehicle segment.

Looking ahead, Zeekr has plans to unveil a flagship SUV featuring a new PHEV powertrain in the latter half of 2025, as shared by CEO Andy An in August. The brand’s recent performance has been impressive, with 21,333 vehicles delivered in September, surpassing the previous record set in June. The third quarter saw a total of 55,003 deliveries, marking a 50% increase year-on-year.

With its focus on innovation, sustainability, and expansion into new markets, Zeekr is poised to make a significant impact in the global electric vehicle industry. Stay tuned for more updates on Zeekr’s journey towards a greener future.
