2024 Dodge Durango Review: Prices, Specs, and Photos

The 2024 Dodge Durango is a formidable three-row SUV that stands out with its bold styling and powerful V-8 engines. When compared to other vehicles in its class, the Durango can be likened to the Jeep Grand Cherokee for its towing capabilities, or to more car-like competitors such as the Kia Telluride and Ford Explorer for everyday utility.

In terms of overall appeal, the Durango earns a solid rating of 5.5 out of 10, thanks to its robust engines and spacious cabin. While it may not be the most fuel-efficient or space-efficient SUV on the market, the Durango’s V-8 options definitely give it an edge in terms of performance and power.

For the 2024 model year, the Durango comes with standard blind-spot monitors across all trims, and the Citadel trim now has an impressive towing capacity of up to 7,800 pounds. The exterior of the Durango exudes a muscular and athletic vibe, with a sleek profile and aggressive fender flares that give it a distinctive look. Inside, the cabin is stylish and modern, featuring a large touchscreen display and quality materials throughout.

When it comes to performance, the V-6 engine provides decent acceleration, but the real stars of the show are the three available V-8 engines. The top-of-the-line Hellcat model boasts a massive 710-hp supercharged V-8 that can sprint from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.5 seconds. The SRT 392 and R/T models also deliver impressive power and acceleration, making the Durango a force to be reckoned with on the road.

In terms of fuel economy, the Durango falls short with low ratings, especially for the V-8 models. However, the focus of this SUV is not on efficiency but on performance and capability. The interior offers plenty of space and a sizable cargo area, although it may not be as well-packaged as some of its competitors.

Safety features are a bit lacking in the Durango, with subpar crash-test ratings and a lack of advanced collision-avoidance technologies on certain trims. However, the available 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto is a standout feature that enhances the overall driving experience.

Pricing for the 2024 Dodge Durango has yet to be announced, but it is expected to start around $42,000 for the base model and go up to over $110,000 for the fully loaded Hellcat version. The Durango is proudly made in Detroit, Michigan, adding to its American heritage and legacy in the SUV market.
