The Birth of Cars and Coffee in LA

What started as a small gathering of car enthusiasts quickly grew into a massive event that had to be moved to Ford’s Irvine design studio. Known officially as Cars and Coffee, the event became a hit, inspiring similar gatherings across the country.

In 2017, a Cars and Coffee event was established in Los Angeles with the goal of uniting car enthusiasts in the city. After a few venue changes, it found its home in Griffith Park, staying true to its laid-back and “very chill” atmosphere.

Participants at the event are more interested in admiring each other’s cars than talking about their own. The variety of vehicles on display is unparalleled, from a classic Ferrari Testarossa to a modified V8-swapped Datsun 240Z, showcasing the diverse automotive culture of LA.

Owners proudly display their cars, whether it’s a Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder or a Ford Explorer transformed into a Jurassic Park-themed vehicle. The relaxed vibe of the event, combined with pristine weather, creates a perfect setting for car enthusiasts to showcase their prized possessions.

As the event draws to a close, with cars slowly leaving the park, the unique and eclectic mix of vehicles continues to impress. A Renault Dauphine, reminiscent of a GT3 car, cruises by, followed by a Nissan 350Z with a futuristic cyberpunk aesthetic.

Forget the glitz and glamour of Hollywood; at Cars and Coffee in LA, the real stars are the cars themselves.

Spotlight on the Dodge Power Wagon

The Dodge Power Wagon, boasting nearly 440bhp and four-wheel drive, is a true powerhouse from the Sweptline-era of trucks. This iconic utility pick-up, known for its distinctive swoosh design on the load bay, has been meticulously rebuilt to its former glory.
