Haima Motor Corporation, a Chinese automaker, has successfully completed the first phase of its second fuel cell electric vehicle (FCEV) pilot project in Hainan province. The company received a reward of 12 million yuan from the authorities for passing the evaluation.

In March of this year, Haima launched its FCEV pilot project in Hainan province with the deployment of 25 FCEVs in Haikou city for ride-hailing services. These vehicles covered key areas such as urban districts, airports, high-speed railway stations, ports, and scenic highways along the Hainan coast.

During the first phase of operations, Haima’s FCEVs were showcased at major international events, including the Boao Forum for Asia Annual Conference 2024, the 4th China International Consumer Products Expo, and the 2024 World New Energy Vehicle Congress. By June, the cumulative mileage of Haima’s FCEV fleet exceeded 6,500 kilometers per vehicle, surpassing the targets set by the local authority four months ahead of schedule.

The second phase of the pilot project focuses on the vehicle rental scenario and has expanded operations to cities like Danzhou, Wanning, and Qionghai. The 25 vehicles in this phase have already achieved an average distance exceeding 10,000 kilometers per vehicle. These vehicles demonstrate features such as net-zero emissions, high efficiency, and rapid refueling, highlighting their potential for environmental protection, energy savings, and intelligent mobility.

Haima aims to further optimize the commercial operations of FCEVs, promote collaboration across the hydrogen energy industry chain, and contribute to the development of Hainan’s zero-carbon automotive ecosystem.

Overall, Haima’s successful completion of the first phase of its second FCEV pilot project underscores the company’s commitment to innovation and sustainability in the automotive industry. With a focus on advancing environmentally friendly technologies and fostering industry partnerships, Haima is paving the way for a greener future in transportation.
