The 2025 Kia Sportage is a standout compact SUV that holds its own against competitors like the Toyota RAV4, Mazda CX-50, Honda CR-V, and Hyundai Tucson. With a TCC rating of 6.8, the Sportage excels in various aspects, especially when equipped with the refined and efficient hybrid option.

One of the notable updates for the 2025 model year is the availability of a panoramic sunroof and power tailgate package for the EX trim. The X-Line and X-Pro versions also feature more blacked-out interior trim for a sleeker look. The Sportage boasts an overstyled exterior design paired with a high-quality interior featuring impressive 10.3-inch screens. Higher trim levels offer even nicer finishes and screens, along with a range of unique color options, including eye-catching green upholstery.

Drivers can choose from three powertrain options for the Sportage: a 187-hp inline-4, a 227-hp hybrid, or a 261-hp plug-in hybrid. The Sportage Hybrid stands out for its balance of performance and efficiency, offering decent acceleration and a refined driving experience without breaking the bank.

On the road, all Sportage models deliver a refined ride and perform well at highway speeds. While they are nimble in city driving, none of the versions prioritize sporty handling. Fuel economy varies depending on the configuration, with front-wheel-drive hybrids achieving up to 43 mpg combined.

Inside, the Sportage provides a spacious and comfortable cabin with ample room for passengers and cargo. The cargo area offers 40 cubic feet of space behind the second row, making it practical for hauling gear or luggage. Safety is a top priority, with the 2025 Sportage earning high marks in crash tests and offering standard automatic emergency braking and other advanced safety features.

Pricing for the 2025 Kia Sportage starts at $28,565 for the LX trim with front-wheel drive. The base model comes well-equipped with essential features like crash-avoidance technology, an 8.0-inch touchscreen, and Apple CarPlay/Android Auto compatibility. Opting for all-wheel drive adds $1,800 to the price, while the hybrid variant offers similar equipment at a slightly higher cost.

Production of the 2025 Kia Sportage takes place in West Point, Georgia, or South Korea, depending on the trim level and configuration. With its blend of style, performance, efficiency, and value, the Sportage is a compelling choice in the competitive compact SUV segment.
