Genesis GV60 Gets Sportier Look and Enhanced Interior Technology
The Genesis GV60 has received a significant update, focusing on a sportier exterior design and improved interior technology. The changes aim to enhance the overall driving experience and bring the electric SUV in line with the latest trends in the automotive industry.
One of the most noticeable updates is the revamped exterior of the GV60. The front end now features more prominent vents around the lower grille area and new headlights with a micro-lens array construction. The wheel arches and skirting have also been redesigned, now matching the car’s body color for a more cohesive look.
Inside the cabin, the GV60 boasts a revised display screen that eliminates the prominent bezel, creating a seamless transition between the infotainment and instrument sections. The thinner screen contributes to a sleeker and more modern interior design. Additionally, a new three-spoke steering wheel replaces the previous two-spoke unit, adding a touch of sophistication to the driving experience.
While Genesis has not disclosed any changes under the hood, recent updates to the Kia EV6 and Hyundai Ioniq 5, which share similarities with the GV60, suggest potential upgrades. Both models received new batteries, increasing their capacity from 77kWh to 84kWh. This upgrade translated to improved range, with the EV6 now offering up to 361 miles on a single charge.
Currently, the GV60 offers a maximum range of 321 miles in its entry-level Premium trim, with slight variations in other configurations. With the introduction of a new battery pack, it is expected that the range will exceed 300 miles across all trims, further enhancing the appeal of the electric SUV.
The updated GV60 is set to hit UK showrooms this summer, with pricing likely to see a slight increase from the current starting price of £58,565. This electric crossover plays a crucial role for Genesis in the UK market, accounting for a significant portion of the brand’s total sales. It remains a popular choice, second only to the larger GV70, which offers a range of powertrain options including petrol, diesel, and electric.
