Hesai Technology has recently announced a partnership with Chery to equip several of their vehicles with the ATX LiDAR sensor, boasting a maximum detection range of 300 meters. The mass production of these models is set to begin in the second half of 2025, with the aim of enhancing the intelligent driving system of Chery cars.

Hesai Technology has made a name for itself as the world’s first LiDAR manufacturer to achieve a monthly delivery rate of 100,000 units. With a production capacity expected to reach two million units this year, Hesai is poised to make a significant impact on the automotive industry. Chery will be integrating the Hesai ATX compact LiDAR sensor into their vehicles this year.

Chery cars that will be adopting the ATX LiDAR sensors include a range of models from the Chery Group’s portfolio, which encompasses brands like Exeed, Exlantix, Luxeed, and Jetour Zongheng. These high-end vehicles are expected to benefit greatly from the advanced technology provided by Hesai.

The ATX sensor offers impressive specifications, including a maximum detection distance of 300 meters, 256 channels, and a 120-degree field of view. Notably, it is 50% more effective than Hesai’s previous bestselling AT128 LiDAR, while also being 60% smaller in size. This compact design ensures a more seamless integration into the vehicles, minimizing the impact on their exterior aesthetics.

In addition to Chery, Li Auto is also set to adopt the Hesai ATX LiDAR sensor in their vehicles. A test vehicle equipped with the sensor was recently spotted in China, further solidifying Hesai’s position as a leading supplier of LiDAR technology to the automotive industry. With over 100 cars already utilizing LiDARs from Hesai, the company continues to drive innovation in the field of autonomous driving technology.
