The Shenzhen auto show, also known as the 29th Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area International Auto Show, is set to take place from May 31 to June 8 this year at the Shenzhen World Exhibition & Convention Center in Guangdong. This annual event is one of the largest auto shows in China, showcasing over 1,000 models and attracting a whopping 860,000 visitors last year.
Renowned companies like Nio, BYD, and Xiaomi displayed their latest models at the previous Shenzhen auto show. The event has a rich history, dating back to its inception in 1991 as the second international auto show in China after the Beijing auto show. Over the years, it underwent several name changes, including the Shenzhen-Hong Kong-Macao International Auto Show in 2009 and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area International Auto Show in 2020.
Before the Shenzhen auto show, car enthusiasts can look forward to the biennial Shanghai auto show scheduled from April 25 to May 2 this year. The second half of the year will see the annual Chengdu auto show in August and the Guangzhou auto show in November, adding to China’s vibrant auto show calendar.
With a rich history, diverse range of models on display, and a growing number of visitors each year, the Shenzhen auto show continues to be a premier event in the Chinese automotive industry. Stay tuned for more updates and highlights from this year’s show!
