Genesis has unveiled the redesigned GV60, showcasing significant upgrades that make this luxury electric SUV even more appealing. The first major redesign since its launch in 2021, the GV60 now offers improved driving range, a stylish new design, and exciting features like Virtual Gear Shift (VGS). The updated model made its debut in Korea, with plans to launch in the US and Europe soon.

When the GV60 first arrived in October 2021, it was already praised for its advanced technology, fast charging capabilities, and luxurious feel. Built on Hyundai’s E-GMP platform, the GV60 is the first Genesis model to do so, sharing the platform with the IONIQ 5 and Kia’s EV lineup.

The redesigned GV60 now boasts a fourth-generation 84 kWh battery, providing a driving range of nearly 300 miles in Korea, up from 280 miles in the previous model. The AWD model offers up to 490 horsepower and 700 Nm max torque with Boost Control, allowing for a 0 to 100 km/h sprint in just 4 seconds. Charging speeds have also been improved, with the ability to charge from 10% to 80% in just 18 minutes using a 350 kW fast charger.

The exterior design of the GV60 has been refined, with a refreshed bumper, signature Two Line headlamps featuring Micro Lens Array (MLA) technology, and a rear skid plate that matches the body color. The interior has also received a major overhaul, featuring a new 27″ cciC infotainment system, a sportier steering wheel, center console, and crash pad.

In terms of comfort and driving experience, Genesis has enhanced the GV60 with improved shock absorber valves on the ECS, reducing vibrations on the road. An Electronic Active Sound Design (e-ASD) system and added soundproofing contribute to a quieter interior. The GV60 now offers a choice between two engine sounds, Horizon or Heritage: Black, with the e-ASD feature.

One of the standout features of the new GV60 is the Virtual Gear Shift (VGS) function, which simulates the feeling of shifting gears, along with a hidden Drift Mode for those looking for some fun behind the wheel. Pricing for the GV60 in Korea starts at 64.9 million won ($45,000) for the Standard 2WD model, going up to 72.88 million won ($50,000) for the Performance AWD variant.

In the US, the base 2025 Genesis GV60 starts at $52,350, with the AWD trim priced at $55,850, and the Performance AWD model at $69,900. With up to 294 miles of range on the current model, the new GV60 is expected to exceed 300 miles of EPA-estimated range.

Overall, the updated GV60 offers a compelling package of luxury, style, and performance, making it a strong contender in the electric SUV market. Would you consider purchasing the new GV60 for around $50,000 to $55,000? Let us know your thoughts in the comments.
