Aston Martin Vantage S returns as 202mph V8 brawler

Aston Martin has officially unveiled the latest iteration of their Vantage sports car – the Vantage S. This new model represents the most track-focused version of the third-generation Vantage to date, marking a return of the prestigious “S” badge to the Vantage lineup.

The Vantage S follows in the footsteps of the recently introduced DBX S, signaling Aston Martin’s commitment to producing high-performance variants of their most iconic models. With a staggering 671bhp output, the Vantage S stands as the most powerful series-production version of Aston’s entry-level sports car, excluding the limited V12 Vantage of 2022.

Engineers have meticulously fine-tuned the Vantage S to enhance cornering speed and stability on the track. A new ducktail spoiler has been strategically designed to shift the car’s overall downforce balance towards the front, complemented by additional front and underbody aerodynamics that generate 111kg of downforce at top speed.

Under the hood, the 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine has been optimized to deliver the impressive 671bhp output, with a peak torque of 590lb ft now available at higher rev ranges between 3000rpm and 6000rpm. The power delivery software has also been reprogrammed for improved throttle response and enhanced driver feedback, resulting in a blistering 0-60mph time of 3.3 seconds and a 0-124mph sprint in just 10.1 seconds. The Vantage S retains its top speed of 202mph.

Despite its increased power output, the Vantage S falls behind the Ferrari Amalfi in terms of acceleration, highlighting the fierce competition in the high-performance sports car segment. Visually, the Vantage S is distinguished by S badging both inside and out, distinctive satin black 21-inch alloy wheels, and striking blade-shaped front air intakes.

Overall, the Aston Martin Vantage S is a testament to the brand’s relentless pursuit of performance excellence, combining cutting-edge technology with timeless design to deliver an exhilarating driving experience on and off the track.
