The new production facility has an annual output capacity of over 150,000 vehicles and is set to create around 3,000 new jobs. It covers the entire automotive manufacturing value chain, including stamping, body welding, painting, and final assembly. The factory also produces high-voltage batteries for PPE-based models tailored for the Chinese market.
Markus Duesmann, CEO of AUDI AG, stated, “Starting mass production at Audi FAW NEV’s factory demonstrates our commitment to the Chinese market and marks a significant milestone in our electrification strategy. The models produced here will play a crucial role in our local product lineup, further solidifying our position in this key market.”

The factory operates on green energy, utilizing photovoltaic installations and implementing waste recycling and closed-loop wastewater management systems to achieve net-zero carbon emissions. The surrounding area will feature sustainable landscaping and wildlife habitats to support local biodiversity.
Audi FAW NEV is also focused on developing its local supply chain, with plans to have around 50% of its suppliers within a 30-kilometer radius of the factory. A dedicated industrial park for suppliers is in the works to attract more businesses and enhance local component sourcing.
The Audi Q6L e-tron, the first model on the PPE platform, is a premium mid-sized SUV with impressive specifications. It offers rear-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive options, with power outputs of 255 kW and 345 kW respectively. The model features a 107 kWh ternary lithium battery pack, providing a range of up to 700 km under CLTC conditions.
With 800V technology and a DC charging capacity of up to 270 kW, the Audi Q6L e-tron allows for quick charging stops. At an appropriate charging station, up to 260 kilometers of range can be recharged in just ten minutes, while the State of Charge (SoC) can be increased from 10% to 80% in 25 minutes.
