The Autocar Road Test has been a staple in the automotive industry since its inception in April 1928. Over the years, thousands of cars have undergone rigorous testing using our tried and true methods, resulting in fiercely independent and empirical results.

One of the most recent cars to undergo the Autocar Road Test is the Lotus Evija hypercar. Priced at a whopping £2 million and boasting an impressive 2013bhp, this hypercar has managed to break several records, including a 40 per cent reduction in our established 0-200mph benchmark. However, despite its monumental performance, the Lotus Evija falls short of claiming the title in our 0-60mph and 0-100mph tests.

In our latest issue, we feature a comprehensive ten-page road test of the Lotus Evija, showcasing its incredible capabilities. The issue is available both in print and digital formats for our readers to enjoy.

When it comes to acceleration, the fastest cars to ever hit our timing gear are truly remarkable. In the 0-60mph category, the Tesla Model S Plaid (2023) takes the crown with a blistering time of 2.4 seconds. It is closely followed by the Ferrari SF90 Stradale (2021), Porsche 911 Turbo S (2022), Lamborghini Revuelto (2024), and the Bugatti Veyron Super Sport (2011), all clocking in at 2.5 seconds.

Moving on to the 0-100mph test, the Tesla Model S Plaid (2023) once again reigns supreme with a time of 4.6 seconds. It is joined by the Ferrari SF90 Stradale (2021), Lamborghini Revuelto (2024), and the Lotus Evija (2025), all achieving a time of 4.8 seconds. The Bugatti Veyron Super Sport (2011) follows closely behind with a time of 5.0 seconds.

In the 0-150mph category, the Lotus Evija (2025) showcases its dominance with a time of 7.7 seconds, followed by the Tesla Model S Plaid (2023) at 9.4 seconds, the Lamborghini Revuelto (2024) at 10.0 seconds, the Bugatti Veyron Super Sport (2011) at 10.2 seconds, and the Ferrari SF90 Stradale (2021) at 10.4 seconds.

These incredible performance figures demonstrate the relentless pursuit of speed and innovation in the automotive industry. Stay tuned for more exciting road tests and reviews from Autocar as we continue to push the boundaries of automotive excellence.
