The New BMW M3 CS Touring: A Track-Focused Powerhouse

The BMW M3 CS Touring has been unveiled as a high-performance version of the brand’s smaller estate, offering increased power and reduced weight for a more dynamic driving experience.

With the use of carbon fibre components for the bonnet, front splitter, air intakes, side mirror caps, and rear diffuser, BMW has managed to shave off 15kg from the M3 Touring, bringing its weight down to 1850kg from 1865kg.

The 3.0-litre straight six engine has been tuned to produce 542bhp, up from the standard 523bhp, thanks to an increase in turbocharger boost pressure from 1.7bar to 2.1bar.

These enhancements allow the CS to accelerate from 0-62mph in just 3.5 seconds, 0.1 seconds quicker than the M3 Competition Touring. Its top speed has also been increased to 186mph, a 12mph improvement.

Furthermore, the CS features firmer suspension and cast-aluminium strut braces at the front, enhancing rigidity for improved handling.

In terms of aesthetics, the CS boasts yellow LED daytime running lights, a distinctive feature of BMW’s CS models, and illuminated ‘CS’ logos on the carbon fibre-backed bucket seats.

Although the CS is a limited-production model, specific numbers have yet to be disclosed for global or UK availability. Pricing starts at £120,600, with deliveries expected to begin in the UK from March.
