Denza, the premium brand of BYD (HKG: 1211, OTCMKTS: BYDDY), is set to launch the highly anticipated Z9 sedan at the upcoming 2024 Guangzhou auto show on November 15. This announcement was made by the brand’s head of sales, Zhao Changjiang, on Weibo.

The Guangzhou auto show, which first began in 2003, is scheduled to take place from November 15 to November 24 this year. Denza’s Z9 is being positioned as a D-segment smart luxury flagship sedan, promising a blend of sophistication and cutting-edge technology.

To tease fans and potential buyers, Denza recently shared some images of the Z9 on Weibo, offering a glimpse of its stylish interior design. The Z9 is the latest addition to the Z series, following the successful pre-sale launch of the Z9GT back on August 20.

The Z9GT generated significant buzz with its pre-sale price range of RMB 339,800 ($47,720) to RMB 419,800, prompting Denza to introduce the regular sedan version, the Z9, at the same price point. The Z9GT officially hit the market on September 20, offering a range of plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) and battery electric vehicle (BEV) variants.

Notably, the Z9GT received an overwhelming response, garnering over 5,000 firm orders within the first 36 hours of its launch. This positive reception indicates a strong demand for Denza’s innovative electric vehicles among consumers.

The Denza Z9 made its debut in a regulatory filing catalog in China on September 13, revealing key specifications and features of the sedan. Measuring 5,220 mm in length, 1,990 mm in width, and 1,500/1,518 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,125 mm, the Z9 promises a spacious and comfortable driving experience.

Like its predecessor, the Z9 will be powered by three electric motors with a combined peak power output of 230 kW, 240 kW, and 240 kW, ensuring a dynamic and efficient performance on the road.

With the official launch of the Denza Z9 just around the corner, automotive enthusiasts and electric vehicle enthusiasts alike can look forward to experiencing the next evolution of smart luxury sedans at the Guangzhou auto show. Stay tuned for more updates on this exciting release from Denza.
