BYD, a prominent Chinese new energy vehicle (NEV) maker, has made its mark in the Omani automotive market by introducing five exciting models — the Han, Yuan Plus, Sealion, Song Plus DM-i, and Qin Plus DM-i. This move marks a significant milestone in BYD’s expansion into the Gulf region.

The brand launch event took place in Oman’s capital, Muscat, where BYD also inaugurated three local stores. According to an announcement made recently, BYD’s commitment to promoting green mobility aligns well with Oman’s 2040 vision for sustainable development.

AD Huang, the general manager of BYD Middle East & Africa, expressed enthusiasm for the company’s entry into the Omani market. He highlighted the importance of BYD’s contribution to Oman’s sustainable development goals through its eco-friendly vehicles.

The three flagship showrooms of BYD in Oman are strategically located in Wattayah, Al Mouj, and the Mall of Oman. Notably, the Mall of Oman showroom stands out as the first automotive showroom in the country to be established within a shopping center.

BYD is dedicated to expanding its sales and service network in collaboration with local dealer partners. The company’s next launch in Oman will be the Sealion 07, adding to its diverse product lineup in the local market.

The Sealion 07 EV was initially introduced in China on May 10 and has since been launched in various countries. This expansion reflects BYD’s global presence and its commitment to offering innovative electric vehicles worldwide.

In November, BYD reported impressive sales figures, with a total of 506,804 NEVs sold, representing a 67.87% year-on-year increase. The company’s overseas sales also saw growth, with 30,977 NEVs sold in international markets during the same period.

As BYD continues to expand its product offerings and strengthen its presence in Oman and beyond, the company remains at the forefront of the electric vehicle industry. With a focus on sustainability and innovation, BYD is poised to drive the future of green mobility in the region and beyond.
