BYD’s sub-brand Fang Cheng Bao is gearing up for the pre-sales launch of its latest model, the Tai 3 SUV, on March 31. This new electric vehicle marks Fang Cheng Bao’s foray into the pure electric vehicle market and will be the brand’s third model overall.
The Tai 3 will be unveiled at a launch event scheduled for 7 pm Beijing time on March 31, as announced by Fang Cheng Bao on Weibo. The brand has also shared images showcasing the exterior and interior of the Tai 3, giving a glimpse of what to expect from this new model.
One standout feature of the Tai 3 is its compatibility with the Ling Yuan automotive drone system introduced by BYD earlier this month, adding a touch of innovation to the vehicle’s capabilities.
Fang Cheng Bao made its debut on August 16, 2023, with the launch of its first model, the hybrid Bao 5 off-road SUV. This was followed by the introduction of the Bao 8 SUV on November 12, 2024, which featured Huawei’s driver assistance system.
In April 2024, Fang Cheng Bao unveiled two concept cars, the Super 3 SUV and the Super 9 supercar, alongside the Bao 8 launch. The production version of the Super 3 SUV, renamed the Bao 3, was set to be released but underwent a strategy shift, leading to its rebranding as the Tai 3 in December 2024.
The Tai series was introduced on December 10, 2024, with the Tai 3 being the first model in this new product line. Unlike the Bao series, which focused on off-road capabilities, the Tai series prioritizes a unibody design suitable for family use.
The Tai 3 is built on Fang Cheng Bao’s dedicated smart EVO platform and boasts impressive energy efficiency, particularly in low-temperature conditions. Equipped with dual motors, the Tai 3 offers a maximum power of 110 kW for the front motor and 200 kW for the rear motor, ensuring a smooth and powerful driving experience.
With the Tai 3’s launch, BYD continues its streak of new model releases, including the Qin L EV sedan, the Sealion 05 EV SUV, and the N9 SUV from the Denza sub-brand. Additionally, the ultra-luxury sub-brand Yangwang is set to unveil the U7 luxury sedan later today.
As BYD aims to sell 5.5 million cars in 2025, with over 800,000 units targeted for overseas markets, the launch of the Tai 3 signals the brand’s commitment to innovation and sustainability in the electric vehicle market. Stay tuned for more updates on BYD’s exciting lineup of new models and technologies.
