BYD Mar sales breakdown: Song 96,087 units, Qin 58,383

BYD (HKG: 1211, OTCMKTS: BYDDY) recently released its new energy vehicle (NEV) sales data for March, showcasing impressive figures across its lineup. The top three selling BYD models in March were the Song, Qin, and Seal families.

The Song family emerged as the best-selling BYD model, with a total of 96,087 vehicles sold in March. This marked a 22.42 percent increase year-on-year and a 7.18 percent increase from February. The Song family comprises models such as the Song L EV, Song L DM-i, Song Pro DM-i of the Dynasty series, and the Song Plus EV and Song Plus DM-i of the Ocean series.

Following closely behind was the Qin family, with 58,383 units sold in March. This represented a substantial 43.91 percent year-on-year increase and a 37.59 percent increase from February. The Seal family secured the third spot, selling 44,563 units in March, reflecting a remarkable 231.50 percent year-on-year growth and a 27.99 percent increase from February.

Other notable performers outside the BYD brand included Denza, which sold 9,326 units in March, Fang Cheng Bao with 8,051 units, and Yangwang with 133 units. Denza’s sales figures saw a 22.77 percent year-on-year increase and a significant 48.24 percent increase from February. Meanwhile, Fang Cheng Bao experienced a remarkable 126.79 percent year-on-year growth and a 62.91 percent increase from February. Yangwang, despite a decline in sales compared to the previous year, saw a positive 26.67 percent increase from February.

Overall, BYD’s passenger car lineup, including the Dynasty and Ocean series, sold a total of 348,096 units in March, marking a 21.41 percent year-on-year increase and a 15.09 percent increase from February. The Dynasty series accounted for 176,622 units sold, while the Ocean series contributed 171,474 units to the total sales figure.

In addition to domestic sales, BYD also achieved significant success in overseas markets, selling a record 72,723 vehicles in March. This represented an impressive 89.22 percent year-on-year increase and an 8.50 percent increase from February, highlighting the brand’s growing global presence.

With a diverse range of models catering to different market segments, BYD continues to strengthen its position in the NEV market both domestically and internationally. The brand’s commitment to innovation and sustainability is reflected in its robust sales performance and growing popularity among consumers.
