BYD’s Sealion 06 SUV has made a remarkable debut in the Chinese market, selling a total of 4,801 units in its first week of sales. This impressive achievement has positioned the Sealion 06 as the top-selling A-class SUV in China for the week of July 28 to August 3, according to Zhang Zhuo, head of sales for BYD’s Ocean lineup.

The Sealion 06 was officially launched on July 24, offering consumers the choice between a hybrid Sealion 06 DM-i and a pure electric Sealion 06 EV. The hybrid variant comes in three different versions with starting prices ranging from RMB 139,800 to RMB 156,800, while the pure electric variant also offers three options with prices starting from RMB 143,800 to RMB 163,800.

In a highly competitive SUV market, the Sealion 06’s successful sales performance speaks volumes about its appeal to customers. With a starting price of RMB 139,800 ($19,540), the Sealion 06 aims to cater to a wide range of consumers looking for a versatile and environmentally friendly vehicle option.

The Sealion 06’s popularity can be attributed to its innovative design, advanced technology, and competitive pricing. As BYD continues to make strides in the electric vehicle market, the success of the Sealion 06 further solidifies the company’s position as a leading player in the industry.

Overall, the Sealion 06’s impressive sales figures in its first week demonstrate the growing demand for electric and hybrid SUVs in China. With its attractive features and strong performance, the Sealion 06 is set to make a significant impact in the market and pave the way for more sustainable transportation options in the future.
