BYD Signs Agreement with Greenvolt Power to Develop Battery Energy Storage System Project in Poland

BYD, a leading Chinese electric vehicle and battery manufacturer, has recently announced a collaboration with Poland’s Greenvolt Power to jointly develop a battery energy storage system (BESS) project in Poland. This partnership marks a significant milestone in BYD’s international expansion efforts in the energy storage sector.

The project, which will have a total capacity of up to 1.6 GWh, represents the latest adoption of BYD’s cutting-edge energy storage technology in the global market. The agreement between BYD and Greenvolt Power encompasses the design and operation of two energy storage assets with a combined capacity of 400 MW/1.6 GWh.

Construction of the project has already commenced and is expected to be completed by the first quarter of 2026. BYD will be supplying its MC Cube-T energy storage system for the project, which leverages CTS (cell to system) integration technology to optimize floor space utilization and facilitate easy installation.

Through this collaboration, Greenvolt Power aims to expand its energy storage program in Europe and solidify its position as a leading developer of BESS projects worldwide. The partnership underscores BYD’s commitment to delivering innovative energy storage solutions that meet the evolving needs of the global market.

As one of the world’s largest battery manufacturers, BYD boasts an impressive installed capacity of 194.705 GWh for power and energy storage batteries in 2024, representing a 29.02% year-on-year increase. In the first two months of 2025 alone, BYD’s installed power and energy storage battery volume reached 32.206 GWh, marking a substantial 79.18% year-on-year growth.
