Changan KAICHENG Unveils New Brand Strategy at Auto Guangzhou 2024

Changan KAICHENG, the commercial vehicle brand under Changan Automobile, announced its new brand strategy at the Auto Guangzhou 2024 event, marking a significant shift towards becoming a digital new energy commercial vehicle technology brand. Leveraging Changan Automobile’s technical expertise, KAICHENG aims to incorporate cost-effective, advanced technologies into commercial vehicles, bridging the gap between passenger and commercial vehicle innovation.

The brand unveiled a refreshed brand identity at the event, with traditional Changan-branded commercial vehicles retaining the current “sun” logo and continuing to offer fuel-efficient, reliable products. In contrast, the KAICHENG brand introduced a new “cube” logo symbolizing innovation and will focus exclusively on launching new energy vehicle models starting in 2025.

One of the key highlights of the new strategy is the introduction of KAICHENG’s first product under this initiative, the V919, scheduled for release in the first quarter of 2025. The company plans to introduce over six additional new energy vehicle models over the next three years. Central to this transformation is the K01 architecture, KAICHENG’s first native digital new energy commercial vehicle platform.

The K01 architecture incorporates cutting-edge technologies such as decoupled design, hardware-software separation, and vehicle-cloud integration, resulting in reduced R&D cycles by one year, 40% lower R&D costs, and a 30% increase in manufacturing efficiency. The platform also enables innovations like smart cockpits and digital chassis, providing light vans and pickups with smart passenger vehicle-like experiences.

KAICHENG is also opening up the K01 architecture to industry collaboration, supporting partners across the value chain through vehicle development, platform licensing, and ecosystem services to enhance efficiency across the sector. The brand’s strategic shift towards digital new energy commercial vehicles signals a commitment to innovation and sustainability in the commercial vehicle market.
