Chinese Tech Giant Dreame Technology Announces Ambitious Plans to Build World’s Fastest Electric Car by 2027

Chinese consumer electronics company Dreame Technology has made headlines with its recent announcement to venture into the electric car market with a groundbreaking goal: to create the world’s fastest production car by 2027.

Renowned for its robot vacuum cleaners and home electronics, the Xiaomi-backed firm is set to unveil its debut electric hypercar that will cater to the ultra-luxury automotive segment, with Bugatti serving as the performance benchmark.

Based in Suzhou, Dreame has already mobilized a team of over 1000 engineers and specialists for its automotive project and is actively expanding its automotive division to bring this ambitious vision to life.

This strategic move positions Dreame among a growing number of Chinese tech companies, including Xiaomi, Skyworth, Huawei, Roborock, and Baidu, that are making significant strides in the electric vehicle sector.

However, Dreame’s objective to redefine the boundaries of road car performance and compete directly with established luxury brands like Bugatti, Ferrari, and McLaren sets it apart as a bold contender in the industry.

The upcoming Chinese hypercar will leverage Dreame’s proprietary high-speed electric motor technology, originally developed for its consumer products. With expertise in manufacturing compact motors capable of operating at speeds exceeding 200,000rpm, Dreame is well-positioned to meet the high-power demands of hypercar performance.

In an internal communication to employees, Dreame’s founder and CEO, Yu Hao, expressed the company’s aspiration to create the fastest car in the world, emphasizing the importance of fearlessness in pursuing ambitious dreams.

Beyond motors, Dreame has successfully commercialized vision recognition systems, AI-driven path planning, and spatial modeling for its robot vacuums. The company holds over 6300 patents globally, many of which are directly relevant to electric vehicle technologies.

With a strong presence in over 100 countries, boasting 6000 retail centers and a customer base of 30 million worldwide, Dreame is well-positioned to transition from consumer electronics to the automotive sector seamlessly.

To support its foray into the automotive industry, Dreame has recruited seasoned executives from established car manufacturers to lead key functions such as research and development, production engineering, and quality control.
