Does The New Audi Q3 Base Model Look Posh Enough to Earn Its Badge?

Audi has recently launched the online configurator tool in Germany for the upcoming Q3 model, allowing buyers to virtually build their own compact luxury crossover. The base model, priced at €44,600 ($52,000) without any additional options, offers a glimpse into the entry-level configuration of the new Q3.

The base model comes in Arkona White as the only free paint color option, paired with basic-looking 17-inch wheels that may be upgraded to larger alloys. The standard full-LED headlights lack the sophistication of the higher trims, with a simpler design for both the headlights and taillights. While the rear of the base Q3 lacks the OLED taillights and wide light bar seen in press images, it does maintain a clean appearance without any fake exhaust tips.

Inside, the base Q3 features cloth-wrapped seats and loses ambient lighting and the flat-bottomed steering wheel. However, it retains a 40:20:40 split rear bench and a normal-looking dashboard. All Q3 versions come equipped with an 11.9-inch digital instrument cluster and a 12.8-inch infotainment system, although the thick bezels may seem outdated for a 2025 model. The interior also includes touch-sensitive keys on the steering wheel and a newly developed unified stalk for windshield wiper and turn signal controls.

Overall, the base Q3 in Germany may appear underwhelming compared to the more premium versions showcased in press images. However, it is expected that the US-bound Q3 will be better equipped, as luxury brands often prioritize selling well-equipped versions in the American market. With its sleek design and advanced features, the new Q3 is set to make a mark in the compact luxury crossover segment.
