Dürr has recently delivered its 19,000th painting robot to BYD’s first European plant in Szeged, Hungary. This marks a significant milestone for the company, as it continues to provide environmentally friendly and efficient painting solutions for electric vehicles.

BYD Auto Company Limited is one of the pioneering Chinese car manufacturers to establish a factory in Europe. With Dürr’s contribution of over 120 painting and handling robots to the Hungary plant, the production process is optimized for painting both the interior and exterior of vehicles.

The painting lines at the plant are equipped with Dürr’s EcoRP series robots, including 6-axis and 7-axis models. These robots work in tandem with handling robots to automate the painting process. The 7-axis robot even assists in opening hoods, while the 6-axis robot efficiently paints the exterior of the vehicles.

This collaboration between Dürr and BYD demonstrates a commitment to innovation and sustainability in the automotive industry. By incorporating advanced robotic technology into the painting process, both companies are setting new standards for efficiency and quality in electric vehicle manufacturing.

As the automotive industry continues to evolve, partnerships like this one highlight the importance of investing in cutting-edge technology to drive progress and meet the growing demand for electric vehicles. Dürr’s milestone delivery to BYD’s European plant signifies a step forward in the transition towards a more sustainable future for the automotive sector.
