DXC, a US-based company, has recently expanded its partnership with Ferrari to focus on developing advanced in-vehicle infotainment systems for Ferrari owners. The goal of this collaboration is to enhance the overall driving experience by creating infotainment systems that offer superior performance.

This partnership between DXC and Ferrari originally began in 2021, with DXC working on reengineering the Human Machine Interface (HMI) systems for both current and future Ferrari models. The Chief Research and Development Officer at Ferrari, Ernesto Lasalandra, expressed his excitement about the collaboration, highlighting DXC’s innovative approach in the automotive industry.

One of the recent achievements of this partnership was the development of software for Ferrari’s latest car, the F80, which was launched in October 2024. The F80 is a versatile vehicle designed for both road and track use, featuring multiple displays that provide a high-speed, performance-oriented experience.

The ‘digital cockpit’ system in the F80 offers dual functionality, serving as a standard infotainment system for public road use and seamlessly switching to a racing display when on the track. This system provides real-time performance data such as speed, G-force, revs, and tire pressure, along with dynamic visuals to enhance the overall driving experience.

Luz Mauch, the Executive Vice President of DXC Automotive and Manufacturing, highlighted the company’s deep experience in the automotive sector and its commitment to transforming the driver experience in collaboration with Ferrari. The cutting-edge software innovations developed through this partnership are expected to have a long-lasting impact on the automotive industry.

In addition to this partnership, Ferrari recently inaugurated a new factory in Maranello to produce its first electric supercars alongside traditional internal combustion engine (ICE) and hybrid models. This move underscores Ferrari’s commitment to innovation and sustainability in the automotive sector.

Overall, the collaboration between DXC and Ferrari signifies a significant step towards revolutionizing in-vehicle infotainment systems and enhancing the overall driving experience for Ferrari owners. By leveraging their expertise and resources, both companies are poised to deliver groundbreaking solutions that will shape the future of automotive technology.
