Eve Energy, a prominent Chinese lithium battery manufacturer, has recently commenced operations at its new plant in Malaysia, marking a significant milestone in the company’s expansion into overseas markets. This Malaysian facility represents Eve Energy’s first factory outside of China and its 53rd globally.

The plant, located in the Kulim District of Kedah, Malaysia, boasts an impressive annual production capacity of 680 million cylindrical batteries. These batteries are primarily designed for use in power tools and electric two-wheelers, catering to the growing demand for sustainable energy solutions in the market.

On February 16, the Malaysian plant celebrated its inaugural production run, symbolizing the beginning of a new chapter for Eve Energy in the international arena. This strategic move is part of the company’s broader efforts to strengthen its global presence and enhance its delivery capabilities in overseas markets, including Southeast Asia, Europe, and North America.

Eve Energy’s foray into the Malaysian market was first announced in October 2022, with plans to invest up to $422.3 million in the construction of the cylindrical lithium battery manufacturing project. The groundbreaking ceremony took place in August 2023, paving the way for the establishment of a state-of-the-art production facility in the region.

In addition to its Malaysian venture, Eve Energy revealed its intentions to invest over $1 billion in the construction of an electric vehicle (EV) battery plant in Hungary. Situated in Debrecen, Hungary, this ambitious project is part of the company’s strategy to expand its footprint in key overseas markets over the coming years.

With 1.53 GWh of EV batteries installed in January alone, Eve Energy has solidified its position as one of the leading battery manufacturers in China. The company’s commitment to innovation and sustainability has earned it recognition as Tesla’s 6th battery supplier, further underscoring its reputation as a key player in the global energy storage industry.

As Eve Energy continues to push boundaries and explore new opportunities in the international market, the Malaysian plant stands as a testament to the company’s vision for growth and excellence in the field of lithium battery production. With a strong focus on quality, efficiency, and sustainability, Eve Energy is poised to make a lasting impact on the global energy landscape for years to come.
