FAW Group Accelerates Innovation in New Energy Vehicle Sector with Strategic Partnerships and Beidou Cloud Workbench Launch

FAW Group, a renowned Chinese legacy automaker, recently hosted a series of significant events at its headquarters in Changchun, Jilin province, showcasing its commitment to digital transformation and innovation in the new energy vehicle sector. The events, which took place on July 16-17, included strategic partnership signings and the launch of the new Beidou Cloud workbench product, marking a crucial step in FAW’s push towards intelligent connected vehicles.

During a conference on the modern industrial chain for new energy intelligent vehicles on July 16, FAW Group signed two major agreements that are set to drive innovation in the automotive chip industry. The first agreement was a strategic cooperation with ZTE Corporation for the “Hongqi No. 1” multi-domain fusion chip. This collaboration will focus on core automotive chip technologies and pave the way for industry integration, offering new opportunities for the development of new energy intelligent vehicles.

In another strategic move, FAW Group signed the “AI+ Action” cooperation agreement with China Mobile, aiming to enhance cooperation in fields such as artificial intelligence, vehicle-road-cloud integration, and digital services. This partnership is expected to accelerate the electrification, intelligence, and globalization of China’s automotive industry, contributing to the growth of Chinese automotive brands through innovative AI and computing power network solutions.

Following these signings, FAW Group, along with the Changchun municipal government, China Mobile, and the National Innovation Center of Intelligent and Connected Vehicles (CVIC), signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement for vehicle-road-cloud integration. This partnership will focus on cloud control platform construction, road-cloud network infrastructure, and joint operations to promote the integration of automotive and information communication technology in Changchun.

On July 17, FAW Group launched the FAW Beidou Cloud workbench, a significant milestone in the company’s digital transformation journey. This workbench, covering seven business domains including R&D, product development, production, marketing, human resources, finance, and management control, integrates AI large model and high-quality data to enhance digital operations capabilities. It is designed to optimize management efficiency, reduce development cycles, and meet the comprehensive needs of traditional enterprises undergoing digital transformation.

The Beidou Cloud workbench is expected to enhance management efficiency by enabling online operations for 23,000 business units, optimizing 1,700 job positions, and improving product development efficiency by 30%. FAW Group’s Chairman and Party Secretary, Qiu Xiandong, highlighted the company’s commitment to digital transformation and the importance of adopting a value-driven, intelligence-oriented approach to sustain its digital evolution.

In conclusion, FAW Group’s recent strategic partnerships and the launch of the Beidou Cloud workbench signify a significant push towards innovation in the new energy vehicle sector and digital transformation. These initiatives are poised to drive the development of intelligent connected vehicles and position FAW Group as a leader in the automotive industry’s digital evolution.
