First Look at the 2026 Jeep Cherokee
Jeep has unveiled the first glimpse of the next-generation Cherokee, set to debut later this year and expected to launch in Europe in 2026.
Similar to the recently revealed Compass, the new Cherokee will be a Land Rover Discovery rival, featuring a design that closely resembles its smaller sibling.
Unlike its predecessor, this new Cherokee will be built on Stellantis’s STLA Large architecture, allowing for hybrid and pure-electric powertrain options. While specific technical details have not been disclosed yet, it is expected to share platforms with the upcoming Alfa Romeo Stelvio.
The release of the first images of the Cherokee coincides with the appointment of Antonio Filosa as the new CEO of Stellantis, taking over from Carlos Tavares. Jeep’s CEO, Bob Broderdorf, expressed excitement about the upcoming Cherokee, emphasizing its competitive pricing and positioning in the market.
From official images and spy shots, it is evident that the Cherokee shares design elements with the electric Wagoneer S, featuring a sloping roofline, squared-off haunches, and unique door handle placements. The front grille design mirrors that of the new Compass, giving it a distinct Jeep identity.
