AEROFUGIA Breaks Ground on Global Headquarters in Chengdu

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On December 12, AEROFUGIA, a leading Chinese eVTOL aircraft developer, celebrated the groundbreaking ceremony for its global headquarters in Chengdu, Sichuan province. This significant milestone signifies the company’s transition from critical technology development to expanding production capabilities.

AEROFUGIA, a subsidiary of Geely Technology Group, specializes in developing electric vertical take-off and landing aircraft powered by new energy and intelligent driving systems. The company finalized plans to build its global headquarters in Chengdu earlier this year, with the facility set to house headquarters operations, research and development, and the production of low-altitude mobility aircraft.

Situated in the Low-altitude Economy Industrial Park in Chengdu Future Science and Technology City, near Chengdu Tianfu International Airport, the headquarters will be constructed in two phases. The first phase, currently underway, covers approximately 30 mu (20,000 square meters) with a planned building area of 26,700 square meters.

Once operational, the facility will enable mass production of AEROFUGIA’s AE200 aircraft, stimulating regional industrial activity through collaboration with various enterprises, research teams, and service providers. This initiative aims to boost the low-altitude economy in Chengdu and establish the city as a hub for such industries in Western China.

The headquarters will adopt an innovative “industrial vertical integration” model in aviation manufacturing, optimizing space utilization and promoting efficient industrial concentration. Energy-efficient building materials and equipment, coupled with the use of photovoltaic panels for energy self-sufficiency, will enhance sustainability and reduce environmental impact.

Notably, the facility will house the largest autoclave in China’s eVTOL production sector, facilitating the production of advanced composite components with enhanced strength and reliability. These components, including integrated wings and tail sections for the AE200, will undergo precise temperature and pressure controls for optimal performance.

AEROFUGIA’s recent milestone of completing Chengdu’s first urban low-altitude manned flight using helicopters demonstrates the company’s commitment to revolutionizing low-altitude transportation. This achievement sets the stage for the future commercial deployment of eVTOL aircraft, including the AE200.

In conclusion, AEROFUGIA’s groundbreaking ceremony for its global headquarters in Chengdu marks a significant step towards advancing eVTOL technology and shaping the future of low-altitude mobility.
