Geely Holding achieves highest-ever monthly auto sales in Oct. 2024

Geely Holding Group Achieves Record-Breaking Monthly Auto Sales in October 2024

In a recent announcement on its WeChat account, Zhejiang Geely Holding Group revealed that its monthly automobile sales volume reached an all-time high of 332,258 units in October 2024, marking a significant 21.1% increase compared to the same period last year.

Notably, new energy vehicles (NEVs) played a crucial role in this milestone, with 165,625 units sold in October, representing a remarkable 54.1% year-on-year surge and accounting for almost half (49.8%) of Geely Holding’s total auto sales for the month.

For the first ten months of 2024, Geely Holding reported a cumulative sales volume of 2,651,922 vehicles, with total NEV sales reaching 1,141,947 units during this period.

Geely Holding encompasses several key automotive entities, including Geely Auto Group, Volvo Cars, PROTON, Lynk & Co, Lotus Cars, Polestar, LEVC (London EV Company), smart, RADAR, and Farizon Auto.

Geely Auto Group Leads the Way

Geely Auto Group, which includes Geely, Lynk & Co, and ZEEKR brands, reported a sales volume of 226,686 units in October, marking a significant 28% year-on-year increase. The group’s NEV sales for the month totaled 108,722 units, soaring 83% from the previous year. Additionally, its monthly export volume rose by 18% to 32,544 vehicles.

Year-to-date, Geely Auto Group has sold 1,716,376 vehicles, reflecting a substantial 31% growth compared to the same period last year.

Volvo Cars Shows Consistent Growth

Volvo Cars reported a steady 3% year-on-year increase in global sales for October 2024, with a total of 61,686 vehicles sold. Notably, NEV sales played a significant role in this growth, reaching 29,895 units and marking a notable 40% increase from the previous year.

For the first ten months of 2024, Volvo Cars’ global sales reached 622,608 units, reflecting a 9% increase compared to the same period last year.

PROTON’s Continued Success

PROTON achieved a sales volume of 12,799 vehicles in October, contributing to a year-to-date total of 125,557 units.
