Genesis Electrified G80 Review 2025, Price & Specs

The Genesis Electrified G80 continues to impress with its luxurious interior design, featuring high-quality materials such as real wood, sumptuous leather, and soft-touch surfaces throughout. The traditional approach to luxury may not appeal to all, but it has certainly gained a following within our road test team.

One standout feature of the interior is Genesis’s smart combination of a large touchscreen with a rotary selection dial for the infotainment system, along with plenty of shortcut buttons and physical controls for the climate settings. This setup makes the car a pleasure to use and adds to the overall premium feel.

However, while the interior is undeniably upscale, practicality is somewhat compromised by the presence of the battery pack. The front seats have been raised to accommodate the battery, resulting in a higher driving position that may feel awkward to some. Additionally, rear legroom is limited, and the boot space is reduced with a noticeable step in the floor.

Our test car was equipped with the Executive Pack, which includes rear sunshades, dual screens for rear passengers, heated rear seats, and controls in the rear armrest. While the rear screens offer various functions like checking the map, weather, and adjusting the rear climate, they lack the ability to control Apple CarPlay or Android Auto, limiting their usefulness.

Overall, the Electrified G80 falls short in comparison to its non-electrified counterpart in terms of rear seat features, as the regular G80 offers ventilated and adjustable rear seats that fold in a 40/20/40 split. The Executive Pack seems more geared towards family use rather than executive comfort, making it a better fit for parents than chauffeur-driven executives.

The infotainment system in the Electrified G80 is a standout feature, offering a user-friendly interface with a combination of touchscreen and rotary controller. The built-in navigation is clear and informative, although it lacks EV-specific features such as live charger data. An update is reportedly in the works to address this issue.

In conclusion, the Genesis Electrified G80 offers a luxurious interior and a user-friendly infotainment system, but practicality is somewhat compromised by the battery pack. While it may not be the most spacious or practical large saloon, it certainly delivers on comfort and upscale features for those who prioritize luxury and style.
