Great Wall Motor’s premium Wey brand has unveiled the facelifted hybrid SUV Lanshan, maintaining the same starting price as its predecessor. The new Lanshan SUV comes in three variants – the Max, Ultra, and Ultra Black Knight, with prices starting at RMB 299,800 ($41,520), RMB 326,800, and RMB 326,800 respectively.
This mid-to-large-size hybrid six-seat SUV boasts dimensions of 5,156 mm in length, 1,980 mm in width, and 1,805 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,050 mm. It is powered by GWM’s Hi4 performance edition four-wheel drive system, featuring a 1.5 L engine with a maximum power output of 125 kW. Additionally, the SUV is equipped with dual electric motors producing 220 kW of maximum power and 410 Nm of maximum torque, allowing it to accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in just 4.9 seconds.
The facelifted Lanshan SUV is powered by a ternary lithium-ion battery, offering capacity options of 44.5 kWh and 52.3 kWh, with WLTC battery ranges of 185 km and 220 km respectively. When fully fueled and charged, the SUV has a combined WLTC range of 1,308 km and 1,343 km respectively.
Equipped with Nvidia Orin-X smart driving chip and GWM’s Coffee Pilot Ultra driver assistance system, the facelifted Lanshan SUV offers advanced features such as NOA (Navigation on Autopilot) functionality in both city and highway driving scenarios. The vehicle’s smart driving hardware includes a 128-channel LiDAR, three millimeter-wave radars, 12 ultrasonic radars, and 11 high-definition vision cameras.
To incentivize potential buyers, the Wey brand is offering limited-time incentives for the purchase of the facelifted Lanshan SUV, including a RMB 10,000 final payment reduction, a trade-in subsidy of up to RMB 20,000, and an insurance subsidy of up to RMB 4,000. Additionally, owners of Wey VV7 cars purchased in 2017 are eligible for a trade-in subsidy of RMB 80,000.
In April, the Wey brand sold 4,811 vehicles, marking a 7.92 percent year-on-year increase and contributing 4.81 percent of GWM’s total monthly sales of 100,061 units. From January to April, the brand sold 18,136 vehicles, reflecting a 28.94 percent year-on-year growth and contributing 5.08 percent of GWM’s total sales in the same period.
